Flying Lemur Game Studio was founded in 2017 by two industry veterans who wanted to fill a gap in the gaming market – bringing great games to great gamers. By licensing fantastic games from publishers and designers around the world, FLGS arranges for the worldwide rights for the English language editions of those titles. This means we’re focused on getting the hot titles into the hands of gamers who might not otherwise have the chance to play those games.
That logo doesn't look like the lemurs we all know and love.
You’re right. The flying lemur is not like the cute, cuddly prairie dog-like critter that pops its head out of the ground looking to see if the coast is clear. Nope. Not at all.
The flying lemur is not really a lemur and does not fly. Instead, it glides as it leaps among trees. It is strictly arboreal, is active at night, and feeds on soft plant parts such as young leaves, shoots, flowers, and fruits. They are also pretty solitary or live in loose-knit groups.
So why the flying lemur?
We’d like to say we spent hours dissecting the psychological aspects of the animal and how it would impact the way the company would be viewed. However, we can’t. We liked the way the name rolled off our tongues and, to be honest, loved that the company’s initials became FLGS rather than some random, nonsensical hodgepodge of letters.
Bottom line: We liked it. And it’s our hope you like the games we bring over as well.
